The Small Space Fix is an independent site for people who live in small spaces: apartments, rentals, starter homes and anywhere the closet is smaller than the wardrobe. We write practical guides to storage and organizing that start with a tape measure, because the most common reason organizers fail is that they do not fit.
How we work
- Measure first. Our guides show what to measure and how to check a product against your space before you buy. Several include free fit finders and calculators.
- Renter-friendly by default. We say clearly when an idea needs drilling, and we offer a no-drill alternative wherever one exists.
- Manufacturer rules, not guesses. Weight limits, surfaces and removal steps come from the maker’s instructions, and we link to them.
- Honest about our research. When we recommend a type of product or a specific product, it is based on dimensions, specifications, instructions and patterns in long-term owner feedback. We do not invent hands-on tests or experiences.
- Safety first. Cleaners under the sink, heavy shelves and tall furniture can hurt people. We follow safety guidance from agencies such as the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
